The Florida Department of Education is now pursuing Duval County Public Schools for its decision to require pupils to wear masks for 90 days.
Starting next Tuesday, all students and employees who do not have a medical exemption from a doctor will be forced to wear masks at school.
Because of that regulation, the agency has launched an inquiry against the DCPS.
Florida Commissioner of Education Richard Corcoran wrote to DCPS Superintendent Diana Greene and Board Chair Elizabeth Andersen on Friday, demanding that the district comply with the governor's executive order prohibiting mask requirements.
