"Betty White was an eyewitness to my debut stand-up on national television," Bob Newhart revealed via his representative in a statement to Fox News Digital. "I had the pleasure of working with Betty on the 'Bob' series and the 'Hot In Cleveland' finale."
"Betty was a regular on Jack Paar's late-night programme, and she was there in 1960 when I performed my first national television stand-up," he went on to say. "Betty was a great pro and basically created television. Today, we lost a massive one."
In a statement, Carol Burnett said: "Betty was someone I adored. One in a million people have died throughout the planet."
"To Betty White, magnificent, ethical, humorous, and simply great," Oscar winner George Chakiris stated. "She was a godsend! May we all follow in her footsteps to make the world a better place!"
